Rides are available daily (not included in the retreat price), and the Mahouts offer a variety of routes and experiences, from a 1 1/2 hour ride through the beautiful jungle surroundings, or an opportunity to bathe with the elephant in the river.

Nam Tok Mo Peang (Mo Peang Waterfall)

Elephant Ride8km from Pai Town is the stunning Mo Peang waterfall. The waterfall is surrounded by jungle covered mountains, and contains many natural bathing pools. The serene location and cool water offer a fantastic respite from daily life. Popular with both tourists and locals, it's a perfect place to relax for an afternoon.

The fascinating journey to the waterfall takes you through Thai, as well as Shan, Lisu and Lahu Hill Tribe Villages.

Pai Canyon

Not far from Pai Tree House is Pai Canyon, an interesting geological formation, with spectacular views of the surrounding valley. Pai Canyon is an ideal place to experience the beautiful scenery of the Pai valley. This is a real canyon, with steep ledges, so be careful when walking around and exploring. Ideal times for a visit are in the early morning, or late afternoon when the sun is not so blazing hot.

Wat Mae Yen: The Temple on the Hill

Wat Mae Yen is another attraction not to be missed during your stay in Pai. Wat Mae Yen is located in the village of Mae Yen, with a road (or long stairway) leading to the top of this mountain temple complex. Once at the top visitors are presented with a gorgeous view of the entire Pai river valley. This is especially beautiful during sun rise and sunset hours, a perfect place for photographs.

Please Note: there are numerous temples to visit in the Pai valley area, Casey is very knowledgeable about the multitude of attractions in and around Pai. He will be available to recommend, or even personally lead guided tours to some of these auspicious sites and beautiful places.
